Real Madrid star Gareth Bale returns to Tottenham, Reguilon also signs on a double transfer deal

Tottenham hotspur have signed their former sensation Gareth Bale on a season long deal from Real Madrid. The Welsh international has two years left on his contract with the Spanish giants, amassing a £600,000 week salary out of which £250,000 will be covered by Tottenham. Although, it should be clarified that the north London club didn’t pay any loan fee and also don’t have the option/obligation to sign him for permanent when the current season ends.

Just want to say thank you to everyone for welcoming me back. It’s great to be back at the club where I made my name and made great memories. Looking forward to creating new history at the club again and making all the fans happy.” – Gareth Bale

Tottenham fans who are itching to watch him play for the club’s crest again will have to wait as Bale is currently recovering from a knee injury which he sustained while representing Wales at the international break. His return to the football field is expected by October.

Tottenham also secured the signatures of the previous Europa league winner Sergio Reguilon from Real Madrid. The young left back represented Sevilla last season on loan where he triumphed with a Europa league medal, a victory against their opponents – Inter Milan, and finished fourth in the league.

The details of the deal include:

  • Five year contract
  • Transfer fee £30 million
  • Buyback clause inserted by Madrid

Manchester United and Inter both were in race for the signing of left back, with Sevilla also hoping to get the player for another season on loan but none of the clubs could compete for the price demanded by Real.

“Hi fans. Thanks for the welcome. I’m very excited to be here. COYS!”

Premier league season for Tottenham didn’t start as they would have expected with a home defeat at the hands of Everton on their season opener. Would these signings prove fruitful? Tune in to find out.
