South Korean pharmaceutical company, SK Bioscience, sponsored by Bill Gates, is preparing to produce 200 million coronavirus vaccine kits by the mid of next year as told by the Microsoft Corp. co-founder to South Korean President Moon Jae-in in a letter.
Gates is closely working with South Korean pharmaceutical companies in a race to develop covid-19 vaccine, the presidential office in Seoul said on Sunday.
Bill Gates foundation sponsored approximately $3.6 million in May to SK Bioscience to facilitate the company in the development of COVID-19 vaccines. The foundation is already working on its own vaccine candidates, as revealed recently that the AstraZeneca Plc is financially supported by it.
Assisted with Oxford University, the vaccine developed by Astrazeneca’s is in the final stage of human testing and is one of the front-runners in the global race for immunization.
Shares of SK Chemicals is continued to be rising as its developed vaccine shows progress.
